My name is Kathleen, and in former lives I was a singer in a rock band, a DJ and a police officer. Now I am a jewelry artisan with 20 years experience in jewelry construction. I once read a book entitled "The World of Beads" (by Janet Coles & Robert Budwig) and was immediately 'taken' with the impact that beads have had on our civilization through the
years. Soon I was reading anything I could find on the history of beads and jewelry. Trying my hand at simple jewelry construction soon developed into an obsession and I started taking classes and learning the basics of good jewelry design. Moving up to the 'good stuff' – sterling silver and gold filled wire – opened new doors and I ran right through them and never looked back. My style is colorful, textural and bold. Every piece that you see on this website has been constructed solely by me and I'm proud to offer you these items because making them has been fulfilling for me and I want to share them with you! You won't see my picture here because I've been known to scare small children and animals, so the beauty in my world is my jewelry, my husband and my home (and not necessarily in that order!).
My husband Rick, aside from being an awesome partner, confidante, quality controller and webmaster, has his own passion and website. He takes exotic woods and acrylics and then hand-turns them on a lathe into exquisite writing instruments - fountain pens and roller balls. We support each
other in our separate endeavors, as we help each other in our main business of custom picture framing, so please make a visit to his site (www.rixstix.com) to see what lovely pen might inspire you to write more personal letters. It's becoming very apparent that as much as we might use e-mail in our everyday business, actually writing letters is making a huge come-back!
